X symbol
Symbole X
The X symbol is the most important element of the Luxembourg Signature.
It highlights the country’s values and priorities: the arrows represent the dynamism with which Luxembourg initiates projects, accelerates the creativity of the sectors and favors innovation by constantly renewing itself. The outward and inward pointing arrows represent the openness with which it brings together and unites people from all walks of life, promotes diversity and is committed to a humanistic Europe. Finally, the resulting balance and shape create a position that guarantees stability and represents the reliability of the resulting relationships and alliances, the sustainability of its actions and vision, beyond its national interests, for a better world.
Structure
The X symbol is made up of four bi-directional arrows: two red and two blue, which create balance, visual harmony and positioning for stability. For this reason, their orientation cannot be changed. The blue arrow always starts at the bottom left and ends at the top right, while the red arrow always starts at the top left and ends at the bottom right.
Exclusion zone
The exclusion zone is the minimum distance between, firstly, the X-symbol and other visual elements and, secondly, the edge of the usable space. It corresponds to a gap of “1/3 L” on each side, a gap of “1L” being the gap of symbol X in the middle. This minimum distance must be respected in order to keep the Signature clear and legible.
Sizes
The X symbol may not be less than 0.3 cm wide. There is no size limitation upwards.
Positionnement
The X symbol may be used on its own, provided that the Luxembourg Signature or another logo of the LuXembourg brand family is used elsewhere on the same medium.
Colors
The symbol ” X ” is two-colored. The red and blue in the X symbol represent the national colors. Whenever possible, the color version of the X symbol on a white background should be used.
X SYMBOL – BLACK AND WHITE VERSION
However, there are also two monochrome variants: a white monochrome and a black monochrome.

X SYMBOL – VERSION ON IMAGE AND BACKGROUND
On black, dark, colored backgrounds or on photos, the “X” symbol can be used in a white monochrome version or in colors (if legibility allows it). The black monochrome version on a white background can be used if technical reasons require it.
